Even with a good skin care regimen, adequate hydration, fresh air and regular exercise, fine lines and wrinkles often are the first signs of aging skin. Because the skin surrounding the eyes is particularly thin and fragile, sun exposure, squinting and repetitive facial expressions can result in eye wrinkles at an early age. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, natural ingredients such as dairy products contain lactic acids that help to slough off old skin cells and smooth dry skin. Used alone or in concert with other softening agents, sweet dairy cream is an effective and gentle exfoliant that may minimize the appearance of wrinkles.
Step 1
Choose organic dairy cream that does not contain synthetic growth hormones. Organic cream from pasture-grazed cows is free from antibiotics, hormones and other genetically modified organisms. Use a raw milk product if possible.
Step 2
Mix 1/2 tsp. organic honey with 1 tbsp. of dairy cream in a small, clean container. Mix vigorously to blend well. The humectant properties of the honey in combination with the cream help to soften and retain moisture and minimize wrinkles.
Step 3
Dab the cream around the perimeter of the eye with a pinky finger -- the weakest finger on your hard -- being careful to avoid pulling or stretching the skin.
Step 4
Sit back or lie quietly with eyes closed. Leave the honey-cream mixture in place for 20 to 30 minutes.
Step 5
Apply tepid water to the closed eyes, moving your fingertips in a soft circular motions up and away from the eyelids to remove the cream from the eye area. Pat dry with a soft towel.
