Protein has been garnering extra attention as the health conscious realize the benefits of including protein in their diets. The Fruit Flush plan is a three day detox diet, that is focused on helping the body balance, and was developed by Jay Robb, a clinical nutritionist and author. This plan uses protein shakes as a staple meal option, to support the bodies overall efforts at balancing and functioning optimally. Whey and soy proteins are great protein options when undertaking the Fruit Flush plan, and can be enjoyed throughout the three day plan, on into everyday life.
Step 1
Purchase a 16 to 20 oz carton of soy protein powder, that has not been genetically modified. Keep this soy protein powder in a dry, cool place for easy access.
Step 2
Enjoy drinking protein shakes mixed with 2 cups of soy milk and one scoop of soy protein powder. Add vanilla extract and stevia to taste is necessary. Drink these protein shakes every two hours throughout day one of the fruit flush diet, beginning at 8 a.m.
Step 3
Make a light dinner around 6 p.m. of 3 to 6 cups of raw vegetables, 3 to 6 oz. of lean tofu and 1 tbs olive oil. Tofu is a rich soy protein source, and tends to take on the flavors of the food around it. Add spices such as sage, cilantro or basil, for an added boost in flavor and health promoting antioxidants.
Step 4
Get up around 8 a.m., and eat 2 cups of fresh cantaloupe. Every two hours from this point, eat a small portion of fruit, from strawberries, to a small banana, apples, mangoes or figs. At 6 p.m., create a dinner meal of 3 to 6 cups of raw vegetables, such as broccoli, spinach, carrots, tomatoes and celery. Add one half of an avocado to the mix, and enjoy eating dinner with a soy protein drink for dessert. Mix blue berries into the soy milk and add the soy powder, then blend the mix with ice to create a rich smoothie texture.
