The University of Maryland Medical Center recommends steeping 1 tsp. of the root in boiling water, straining the liquid and drinking, three times a day.
Panax Ginseng
Panax ginseng, also called Asian or Korean ginseng, may help increase resistance to physical or emotional stress. Ginseng products often claim to increase vitality, improve physical performance and increase psychological and immune function. Additional human clinical research is needed. The University of Maryland Medical Center recommends taking 100 to 300mg of Panax ginseng, two times per day to increase energy.
