The Shaklee corporation is an all natural nutrition company that has been in business for over 50 years. It is their goal to improve people’s health and restore the planet’s health at the same time. In fact, Shaklee was “the first company in the world to obtain Climate Neutral certification and totally offset [their] CO2 emissions, resulting in a net zero impact on the environment.” Shaklee has characterized their popular meal shakes as "Fast Food, No Guilt."

Easy On-the-Go Meals

Shaklee Meal Shakes come in two different flavors, Bavarian Cocoa and French Vanilla. Their nutritional values are almost identical except for a 2 g difference in sugar, with French Vanilla containing slightly less, and a 45 mg difference in potassium, with Bavarian Cocoa containing slightly more. Shaklee Meal Shakes are easy and quick to make. Add 1/4 cup of the powdered mix to 8 oz. of fat-free, low-fat or whole milk and shake well.

Calories

There are 120 calories in Shaklee’s Bavarian Cocoa Meal Shake mix. If you make a shake with low-fat milk, it will contain roughly 240 calories. If you mix the shake powder with whole milk, it will provide around 330 calories.

Fat

The Shaklee Meal Shake powder contains only 0.5 g of total fat, before milk is added. There is no saturated fat or trans fat; however, there is a little less than 5 mg of cholesterol. The type of milk you add, fat-free, low-fat or whole, will greatly affect the amount of fat in your meal shake. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans encourage you to consume 3 cups of fat-free or low-fat milk, or equivalent milk substitute, each day to ensure sufficient calcium consumption.

Carbohydrates

There are 23 g total carbohydrates in 1/4 cup of meal shake powdered mix. One serving, before milk is added, provides 3 g of dietary fiber. The type of milk you add may slightly increase the fiber content, but not by much. There are 18 g of sugar in one serving of Shaklee Meal Shake powdered mix. Once milk has been added, the carbohydrate and sugar levels will increase.

Protein

One serving, 1/4 cup, of Shaklee Meal Shake mix contains 7 g of protein. Once you mix it with milk, the protein content will increase significantly. In some cases it will double, depending on the type of milk you add.
