Epsom salt is a natural mineral compound that may have many health benefits. Epsom salt contains magnesium sulfate and does not contain salt at all, despite the name. According to the Epsom Salt Council, the magnesium in epsom salt can reduce inflammation, which may make it an especially useful treatment for minor cuts.
Step 1
Wash the cuts and your hands with soap and warm water. Dry your hands on a clean towel.
Step 2
Fill a basin, bucket or small plastic tub with warm water.
Step 3
Add 1/2 cup of epsom salt to the water and gently stir it with clean fingers.
Step 4
Soak the affected part of your body in the water and salt solution for 20 minutes.
Step 5
Dry the cut with a clean towel and place a bandage over the cut.
