Too much facial hair can be a problem -- even for men. And in women it can be extremely embarrassing or a sign of a hormonal condition. There are things you can do, however, to stop facial hair growth. And you don't have to resort to toxic or harmful treatments. Natural options are just as effective.
Step 1
Take herbal supplements to put a stop to your facial hair growth. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, black cohosh and saw palmetto can work well in women because they reduce the amount of androgen in the body, resulting in less facial hair that's the result of a hormonal imbalance. The University of Maryland Medical Center also says black cohosh might increase the risk of blood clots -- so it's not recommended if you have a clotting disorder.
Step 2
Take a calcium-D-glucarate supplement to reduce the amount of androgen in the body, detoxify the body and reduce the amount of facial hair you have. Another substance called diindolylmethane is derived from broccoli and cauliflower and can bring balance to your hormone levels -- reducing your extra facial hair.
Step 3
Manually remove the problematic facial hair using a pair of tweezers. Locate each hair you'd like to remove, grasp it with the tweezers and pull it out in the direction the hair grows. Plucking can cause skin irritation, swelling and pain. To reduce pain, apply ice before tweezing the hair. Over time, the hair will grow back more slowly or not at all.
