Overview

Oligospermia is the name given to the condition better known as low sperm count. For some men, this affects their sex life, while for others, it affects their ability to have a family. No matter your reasons for wanting to increase your sperm count, you can do so without the use of medications; it is a condition that can be treated safely and naturally.

Step 1

Keep cool. According to the medical experts at MaleFertility.md, overheated testicles can slow down sperm production. In fact, taking a hot bath can halt sperm production altogether. To increase your sperm count, wear boxers rather than briefs; this allows for air to pass through and keep your testicles cool. You should also refrain from hot baths and the use of hot tubs or saunas.

Step 2

Lose weight. When you are obese, the excess layers of skin can sag over your testicles, causing them to overheat. Losing these extra pounds relieves your testes of the sagging skin, thus providing them a cooler environment for them to function normally in.

Step 3

Drink more water. Water is an important part of any diet, but is even more so when you are trying to increase your sperm count. According to the experts at IncreaseSperm.com, water is the one resource most frequently overlooked when attempting to add to your sperm count. The more dehydrated you are, the lower your sperm count could be.

Step 4

Take a break. This may be the one piece of advice men like the least, but could be the one that will help the most. The more you ejaculate, whether that be through masturbation or intercourse, the lower your sperm count will be. Therefore, you should wait two to three days between each ejaculation, allowing time to build back up.

Step 5

Increase your zinc. Zinc, a mineral found in foods such as oysters, red meat, whole grains and dairy products, can help increase your sperm count by increasing your production of testosterone. If your diet consists primarily of snack and processed foods, try balancing it out with a healthier diet consisting of the above-mentioned items.
