Information on Weslo Cadence 875 Treadmills

As of October 2010, Weslo still makes the Cadence line of treadmills, although the Cadence 875 was produced around 1995. You cannot purchase the 875 model treadmill new. You may find used machines at garage sales, flea markets or websites featuring used fitness equipment. You can find parts for the Cadence 875, but it may be more economical to buy a new Weslo treadmill since they are so low priced.

Company

Weslo is made by the same company, Icon Health and Fitness, that is behind other popular brands such as Reebok, NordicTrack and ProForm. The Weslo brand is a low-end, low-cost line of treadmills. In October 2010, the treadmills on the Weslo website sell between $130 and $400. Weslo treadmills are also sold at large department stores such as Walmart.

875 Model

The 2.0 horsepower motor in the Cadence 875 sustains speeds up to 10 mph. The ramp inclines for a more intense workout but you have to stop the walking belt before adjusting the incline. You set the incline by using your foot to press a knob located on the right foot rail. The 875 is not a fold-away treadmill. It can be folded down for storage, but this requires removing bolts and parts.

Features

The console on the Cadence 875 provides data on your workout, including time elapsed, estimated calories burned, distance walked and speed of the walking belt. A thumb pulse sensor on the console allows you to check your heart rate while you are working out. The console also includes a towel rack and beverage holder.

Maintenance

The walking belt is pre-lubricated at the factory. Weslo cautions against applying any silicone spray or other substance to the belt or deck. This may deteriorate the walking belt. If the walking belt slips or is off-center, you will need to adjust the tension of the belt. The only other maintenance Weslo recommends is checking for loose bolts and screws and tightening as needed.

Availability

You may find a used Weslo Cadence 875 online or at a garage sale. In October 2010, the 875 could be found for sale by owner on several websites. The asking price ranges from $50 to $100. Depending on the condition of the treadmill and the asking price, it may be more economical to simply purchase a new Weslo treadmill.
