If you're anxious to transform your body through weight loss, it's natural to want the process to go quickly. Losing weight rapidly sounds appealing, but it isn't overly effective, nor is it often healthy. Instead, take a steady approach. Give yourself 90 days, for example, and you have a chance to lose a significant amount of weight to greatly improve your health.

Drop Pounds to Boost Your Health

A healthy, safe rate of weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds per week, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you can lose weight at this rate, you can lose up to 8 pounds in a month, provided you stay dedicated to a healthy diet and regular exercise. Over 90 days, you could realistically lose up to 24 pounds. Depending on how much weight you have to lose, shedding up to 24 pounds can drastically improve your health. The CDC notes losing even up to 10 percent of your weight can be extremely beneficial.
