FSH, or follicle-stimulating hormone, is produced by the pituitary gland, according to reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Terrence Lee. In women, the pituitary produces FSH each month to stimulate ovulation. If ovulation does not occur, the pituitary will continue to produce FSH, resulting in high blood levels of this hormone. High FSH is one indicator of infertility. Herbs may help lower your FSH levels, but as with any herb or herbal supplement, you should speak to a health care professional before using. Also, to treat infertility, you should work with a qualified health care professional.
