The Best Life diet was created by Bob Greene, well-known as Oprah Winfrey's trainer. According to The Best Life website, this diet is a lifestyle approach to weight loss. Followers of the Best Life Diet are encouraged to eat healthy foods and participate in regular exercise. Participants are supposed to make a lifetime commitment to healthy eating in order to promote and maintain weight loss.

Three Phases To Follow

According to EveryDiet, the Best Life Diet is divided into three phases. The first two phases are each four weeks long. The last phase is intended to be followed for life. Since the first two phases promote weight loss, a participant may choose to stay in these phases longer if more weight loss is needed.
In order to monitor progress and changes, participants take part in weekly weigh-ins.

Healthy Food Intake

As outlined on The Best Life website, the Best Life Diet recommends three meals plus one snack per day. Participants are not supposed to eat within two hours of bedtime. Alcohol is to be avoided while on this diet, and water intake is to be increased. Processed and fatty foods including fried foods, pasta, soft drinks and sweets should be eliminated. During phase 3 of this diet, participants are permitted to have a certain number of calories allotted to small portions of favorite foods and treats.
