Kim & Scott's Pretzels are hand-made from scratch using all-natural ingredients and no preservatives. They come in two types -- classic pretzels and stuffed pretzels. The classic varieties are Traditional Bavarian and Sourdough Parmesan. The stuffed pretzels include Apple Cinnamon, Cheddar Jalapeno, Chocolate Crumb, Cinnamon Roll, Cream Cheese, Egg & Cheese, Grilled Cheese, Pizza Pretzel and Spinach Feta. Enjoyed in moderation, these pretzels can be integrated into your diet as a healthy snack or meal.

Calorie Content

According to the Kim & Scott's Pretzels website, the calorie content varies for each flavor of pretzel. For example a 4 oz. serving of the traditional Bavarian pretzel has 300 calories. Whereas a 4 oz. serving of the grilled cheese pretzel contains 350 calories. The chocolate crumb pretzel has the highest amount of calories -- 400 for a 4 oz. serving. Based on the USDA recommended intake of 2,000 calories, these pretzels contain between 15 and 20 percent of the recommended calorie intake.

Fat Content

The labels show that some of the pretzels contain varying amounts of fat from 1 g for the Traditional Bavarian up to 11 g for the Stuffed Cream Cheese. Most of the pretzels contain between 4 and 7 g of fat. Most of the pretzels have saturated fat but no trans fat. According to the American Heart Association, dietary saturated fat has been linked to heart disease. Your saturated fat intake should be no more than 10 percent of your daily total fat intake.

Carbohydrate Content

According to the food labels, a serving of pretzel contains an average of 50 carbohydrates which is approximately 23 percent of the recommended daily value. Carbohydrates provide fuel for your daily activities. However excess carbohydrate consumption can cause a rise in blood glucose which, in turn, prevents the breakdown of fat. All the pretzels contain dietary fiber which helps reduce blood cholesterol levels and maintain heart health.

Protein Content

The food labels show that the pretzels have between 7 and 14 g of protein. Recommended protein intake for a sedentary person is 0.8 g per 2.2 lb. of body weight. Protein is necessary to build muscles and other tissues.

Other Dietary Considerations

If you are concerned about nut allergies, Kim & Scott's Pretzels are made in a nut-free facility. The pretzels contain no hydrogenated oils and are a good source of whole grains. Read the labels carefully for any other allergy concerns. These pretzels have a good balance of macronutrients and they are a healthy snack when consumed in moderation.
