Regenix hair lotion, which is technically named Directive Styling Gel, is part of the Regenix Hair Loss Treatment line of products. The product line is marketed as an all-natural and bio-pharmaceutical hair-loss treatment program for both men and women. Regenix does not claim that any of its health and beauty products grow hair, but rather encourage hair retention.

Uses

Regenix Directive Styling Gel, also designed to use as a setting lotion, is applied to hair for protection from the sun's potentially harmful UV rays, and gives hair volume and makes it appear shiny, according to Regenix.com. Based on the website, the lotion has a light consistency and is water-soluble.

Ingredients

The setting lotion's formula contains herbal extracts and a sunscreen agent, according to Regenix.com. Natural ingredients include deionized water, aqueous botanical extracts from rosemary, chamomile, henna, burdock, goldenseal and comfrey. Non-natural ingredients include a decadiene crosspolymer, triehanolamine, methylchloroisothiazolinone and azulene, a colorant. Natural fragrances are also included to give the lotion a pleasing scent.

Safety

All elements of the Regenix Directive Styling Gel, as well as elements present in other Regenix products, are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, according to Regenix.com.

Benefits

Many of the botanical extracts in Regenix Directive Styling Gel provide an array of benefits. Rosemary extract has been known to improve hair health and promotes circulation in the scalp, according to the Essential Oils website. Chamomile has long been used to treat skin conditions such as eczema, rashes, dermatitis and dry skin because it acts as a tissue generator. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, burdock is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine used to treat a number of ailments, including sore throats and colds, and is known to be an effective treatment for eczema and psoriasis.

Application

The Regenix website instructs to squeeze the gel into the palm of the hands. Apply to wet or dry hair while avoiding the scalp. The gel can also be used as a setting lotion by applying the product to the hair liberally and allowing it to shape the hair. Setting lotions are effective in shaping curls and holding hair styles in place.
