The Warrior Diet and Workout routine are dynamically different from many dieting trends and fitness endeavors that accompany it today. With a primary focus on reducing caloric intake, intermittent fasting and late-night eating, the Warrior diet advocates the health benefits of eating and living as ancient people of long ago. The diet promotes intermittent fasting and the benefits derived from it as sustained longevity, lean body mass and increased energy. The workout is to the point, and delivers both aerobic and anaerobic activities to build stronger bones and burn fat fast.

Features

The Warrior Diet has three main features: combining proper food, healthy food choices and exercise, known as controlled fatigue training. This diet focuses on eating one main meal in the evening and under-eating during the day, as the research behind this diet suggests that humans are nocturnal eaters, inherently programmed for under-eating and toiling during the day, to be followed by overeating and relaxing at night. With this mindset, this diet also suggests eating pre-agricultural foods, such as organic fruits, vegetables, sprouted legumes, seeds, nuts, fertile eggs, roots, dairy from grass-fed animals and fish.

Significance

Doctor Ori Hofmekler, the creator of the Warrior Diet, suggests that as human beings, we have survival mechanisms that are of great benefit to us when we are provoked by nutritional or physical stresses. He states that exercise combined with under-eating should amplify the beneficial mechanisms that are inherent to human beings, which should support improved strength and the resistance of fatigue.

Considerations

This diet is extremely different than the eating patterns the majority of our world enjoys. When considering this dieting approach, be certain you are prepared, both physically and mentally. This diet also suggests you supplement with the brand-specific supplements to sustain energy and strength. These products can be costly, and you should always speak with your doctor before taking supplements or starting an aggressive weight-loss program.

Warning

The exercise portion of the Warrior Workout is intense and extreme. Pyramid sets are used, which means you lift weights over five to six sets of heavy weight to lighter weight over each set. Compound movements are used in depth, which are movements that engage many different muscles through one movement, using resistance weight to support building muscle strength and tone. Cardiovascular exercises are also a big part of the program. This program should be done with caution, and you can build up your performance over time.

Theories/Speculation

This diet is built on the mind set that human beings are nocturnal eaters and are inherently preconditioned to eat in the evening. The majority of civilization today tends to consume most of its calories in the morning and afternoon hours. This diet suggests that skipping breakfast and lunch, then eating a big meal at night should support leaning up the body, even if the same calorie quantity is consumed. Supportive liquid supplements of protein can be consumed as you exercise earlier in the day, but the bulk of your calories should come at night.
