Elder care refers to services that meet the needs of the frail elderly, including services that help the elderly remain in their homes, such as meal preparation or delivery, personal care assistance, transportation, socialization, housekeeping and adult day care. Elder care also refers to the care of the frail elderly in residential facilities. HelpGuide.org reports that elder care can involve simply helping the elderly navigate the many community resources available to them. Grants for elder care might support in-home services, respite services for caregivers or out-of-home senior daycare programs.
