Both grief and depression are difficult to deal with. All across the country, there are services to help you deal with them. Arizona is no different. The state offers a multitude of counseling services, including individual, family or group therapy. Well-qualified counselors are staffed at these counseling centers to help you through your times of trouble.
Convenient Hours
Pediatric & Family Excellence in Anthem is a counseling office that provides convenient hours in the afternoons and evenings. Cynthia Beanblossom, the licensed professional counselor at the center, offers assistance to children, young adults, adults and couples. Options
No matter where you live in Arizona, there are plenty of counseling options to choose from. For example, Theravive has offices and clinics located in several cities across the state, including Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe. Theravive is a specialized directory of counselors throughout the country who provide counseling services to individuals, couples and families. In Yuma, for example, Troy Love is a licensed clinical social worker who provides grief and loss counseling as well as depression/anxiety services.
For Children
Dealing with death of someone you love is hard enough. But for children, it can be harder. That's why Stepping Stones of Hope, based in Phoenix, offers services to children who have experienced the loss of someone they love. The center focuses its services around day camps and weekend programs to help children understand the concept of death through art, journal writing, music, relaxation and more.
Coping with Loss
Dealing with the loss of a loved one is difficult enough. But when it's the loss of a child, sometimes people may have a more difficult time coping. That's why many Arizona counselors offer services to those who are suffering the loss of a child, including the MISS foundation. This non-profit organization, founded by Dr. Joanne Cacciatore, offers several support groups in the Phoenix area. Whether you are a parent, grandparent or child, you can find the help you need. The foundation not only offers in-person support, but also a wealth of information on its website.
Detailed Therapy
All across Arizona, therapists will tailor their services to your needs. The counselors at True North Treatment Center are no exception. The center has two locations--Anthem and Peoria. Both locations are home to counselors who will work with you to identify your specific needs. For example, Dr. Shona Shewmaker is a licensed clinical psychologist skilled in dialectical behavior therapy and interpersonal therapy, both useful treatments for depression and anxiety.
