Stretch marks show up during pregnancy or at any time when you gain weight rapidly. Even weight lifters suffer from stretch marks, which appear as purplish-pink or silvery lines where the elastin and collagen have been damaged. You can boost the health of your skin by adopting a healthy diet and exercise plan. Loading up on vitamin C, E and protein increase the skin's elasticity and exercise tones your muscles, which keeps the skin taut. But sometimes that's not enough. Expensive topical treatments are available, but you can make an effective stretch mark reducer at home.
Lavender & Chamomile Oil
Step 1
Add seven drops of lavender oil to a base of 1 oz. of avocado oil in a small container with a sealable lid. Mix thoroughly.
Step 2
Add five drops of chamomile to the avocado and lavender oil mixture. Mix the concoction well before using.
Step 3
Put some of the oil mixture onto a cotton ball, then swipe on clean skin over the area you wish to reduce the look of stretch marks. You can also massage the oil into the skin to bring more blood to the surface and speed healing.
Tips and Warnings
