The American Academy of Family Physicians states it is normal to shed some hair everyday, but excessive hair loss may be due to a hair disorder, illness or hair that is uncared for. However, there is a selection of vitamins to help keep your hair growth healthy and efficient.

Vitamin H (Biotin)

Vitamin H is part of the B group of vitamins and is mainly used to help the body turn food into energy. However, it is also essential for healthy hair, as it helps to treat hair that may be weak. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, biotin supplements have been suggested to help treat hair that is brittle, thin or splitting. Also, a lack of vitamin H in your body can cause deficiencies such as hair loss.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is involved in the regular growth and maintenance of your hair, according to Natural News. It helps to keep hair healthy by regulating the synthesis of retinoic acid inside the hair follicles, which are responsible hair growth. Also, vitamin A enhances the production of sebum, a natural oil that is used on your scalp to ensure healthy hair growth.

Vitamin E

According to Natural News, vitamin E helps to build hair capillaries, and the more these hair capillaries are present, the more hair grows. Vitamin E helps to keep the hair hydrated by improving its texture. Vitamin E also promotes healthy blood circulation inside your scalp, resulting in faster hair growth.
