This meal is a perfect choice for an athlete who needs to consume more carbohydrates compared to someone who is trying to lose weight. The salad and soup total 450 calories; 47 percent of the calories come from carbs, 29 percent from protein and 24 percent from fat.

Gorditas and Tacos

Gorditas are heartier than regular tacos, especially because the flatbread is thicker than a taco shell. Be sure not to mistakenly order a chalupa, which uses fried flatbreads. Order a 6-inch, oven-roasted chicken sandwich on flat bread with mozzarella cheese for a 370 calorie lunch or dinner; 48 percent of the calories come from carbs, 28 percent from protein and 24 percent from fat. If you enjoy a mixture of cold-cut meats, order the 6-inch Subway club on flatbread for a 330 calorie meal; 52 percent of the calories are from carbs, 30 percent from protein and 18 percent from fat. Add mozzarella cheese to your club for 40 more calories. Now, only 47 percent of the calories are from carbs, 30 percent from protein and 23 percent from fat.
