What To Look For

When you are looking into the products, you should consider the type of skin you have. Oil of Olay offers many different series of products, but all of them come with regular and sensitive skin options. The cleansing products offer different formulas for dry skin versus oily skin. The moisturizing products allow for dry skin or normal skin, and offer different levels of protection against the sun. Day creams are usually lighter than night creams.

Common Pitfalls

The biggest pitfall is not taking into account your skin type and the atmosphere around you. Using a proper cleanser and moisturizer will keep your skin in the best possible shape. Not everyone needs extra moisturizing and it can cause more harm than good if it isn't needed. Consider mixing and matching from the different lines to determine what is best for your skin type. When you are traveling, think about the atmosphere where you are going. In dryer climates you will want to add extra moisture; in humid areas you will not need as much.

Where To Buy

You can purchase Oil of Olay at almost any drug store. Multi-purpose stores such as Target and Wal-Mart also carry the product line. Grocery stores often have some of the Oil of Olay products, but the more extensive collections are typically carried by the drug stores. You can also purchase online and have the products shipped directly to your home.

Cost

As of 2010, the professional series is the most expensive, known as ProX. Many of the products in this line cost more than $20 per product. The next most expensive is the Regenerist series which is aimed at helping reduce the signs of aging. Only slightly less expensive than ProX most of these products come in at just under $20. Definity focuses on skin tone correction, helping reduce the look of age spots, and often costs around $15. Total Effects is the base level of the anti-aging bringing the cost down to $13 on average. Classic Oil of Olay comes in at around $10 and offers a line of cleansing and moisturizing products.
