Older people are often challenged with facial dryness, wrinkles and other age-related traits. Quick facial weight loss can be experienced by focusing on minimizing facial bloating. Reducing bloating can also improve the appearance of mature skin. Lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise, will also drop extra weight around the face.

Step 1

Drink plenty of water. If you aren't drinking enough water, the face bloats, giving it a larger appearance, according to Good Housekeeping. Drinking water will also improve the texture of an aging face. Drink at least nine 8 oz. glasses of water each day to quickly release extra weight caused by bloating.

Step 2

Boost calcium consumption. Consuming a minimum of 1,200 mg of calcium daily minimizes body fat, according to Good Housekeeping. It also minimizes water retention in the face. Talk with your doctor about taking a calcium supplement.

Step 3

Burn more calories to lose extra facial weight. If you want to lose one pound of body fat, you must burn an extra 3,500 calories weekly, according to the Mayo Clinic. This is about 500 calories daily. Trim 250 calories off your normal diet and burn 250 calories through physical activity. The Centers for Disease Control and prevention recommends at least 150 minutes of activity weekly for adults over the age of 65.

Step 4

Minimize salt consumption. Another nutrient that bloats the face and makes it appear larger is too much salt. The American Heart Association recommends consuming 1,500 mg or less of sodium daily.

Step 5

Strength train at least twice a week, recommends the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This allows you to quickly slim down your entire body, including the face.

Tips and Warnings

  • Avoid alcohol consumption which dehydrates the body, according to Good Housekeeping. Alcohol is also high in calories, which can tack on extra pounds.
  • Talk with your doctor before starting a new exercise and diet plan. She can assist in setting realistic goals. Your doctor can also rule out health issues that might contribute to facial weight gain.
