Blackheads, according to Acne.org, occur when the pore is partially blocked and some of the trapped oil, bacteria and skin cells rise to the surface. The color is caused by melanin, the skin's pigment, reacting with the oxygen in the air. Blackheads on the nose can take a long time to clear and Teen's Health recommends not squeezing or irritating the blemishes. Instead, use a facial steam and a simple herbal mask to clear the blackheads from your nose.
Step 1
Fill the pot with 2 quarts of filtered or distilled water and set the water to boil.
Step 2
Chop the parsley in the blender, coarsely, and add water if needed. Pour the chopped parsley into a bowl.
Step 3
Add the rosemary, sage and witch hazel to the boiling water, along with the comfrey. Stir the herbs and cover the pot. Turn off the heat and let the pot sit for two minutes.
Step 4
Apply the chopped parsley to your nose. Avoid getting the parsley in your eyes.
Step 5
Put the pot on the heat-safe table and sit at the table. Drape a towel over your head, and around the pot, to trap the steam.
Step 6
Keep your face at least 6 inches from the steam. Close your eyes and stay under the towel for as long as is comfortable.
Step 7
Rinse your face with cool water to tighten the pores. Repeat this treatment at least once a week.
