According to Mayo Clinic, most women suffer from fat deposits known as cellulite, which appear as dimpled skin on the thighs, hips and buttocks. Although cellulite removal is impossible, it can be managed.

There are several ways to manage the appearance of cellulite. The most popular treatments on the market today include topical creams. Other treatments include: lasers and radiofrequency, dry brushing, exercise and mesotherapy.

According to Mayo Clinic, the most promising of medical therapies are lasers and radiofrequency. Results can last up to six months. The Mayo Clinic notes that creams have shown no clinical evidence that they're effective.

The cost to treat cellulite can range from $10 for a topical cream to $200 to $600 per session for mesotherapy.

There is no cure-all for cellulite. The best way to diminish its appearance is to stay within a healthy weight range, eat a healthy, low-fat diet and maintain a program of regular resistance training.
