How to Put a New Walking Belt on a Weslo Cadence Ls10 Treadmill

The Weslo Cadence LS10 treadmill is a fitness product designed to assist the user in simulating the act of walking or running while indoors. The device operates by rotating a durable belt over a deck and a pair of rollers. Regular use may cause the walking belt to show signs of wear over time; to restore the device to working order, you must remove the damaged component and install a replacement. This will involve removing some of the cosmetic coverings attached to the treadmill's base unit.

Step 1

Clip the end of the safety key lanyard to your clothing. Step onto the sides of the treadmill's base and insert the key into the slot on the bottom edge of the console. Push the bottom end of the incline switch until the deck lowers completely. Remove the safety key from the console.

Step 2

Push the bottom end of the treadmill's circuit breaker, then unplug the device's power cord. Remove the six screws that secure the upper motor housing in place. Detach the upper motor housing and set it aside.

Step 3

Remove the two bolts from the rear end cap. Detach the end cap and set it aside. Remove the two front rails from the sides of the walking deck. Remove the bolt securing the right end of the front roller to the treadmill's frame. Slide the drive belt off of the left end of the front roller. Remove the front and rear rollers.

Step 4

Remove the roller guards from the rear of the walking deck. Remove the three screws installed on the left side of the walking deck. Loosen the three screws installed on the right side of the walking deck. Lift the left side of the walking deck and slide the old walking belt free.

Step 5

Pull the replacement walking belt onto the left side of the walking deck. Slide the belt to the center of the deck. Reinstall the screws on the left side of the deck, then tighten the screws on the right side. Return the front and rear rollers to their original locations.

Step 6

Use the previously removed bolt to secure the front roller back in place. Reattach the drive belt to the left end of the front roller. Spin the rear roller until its bolt holes face the rear of the deck. Reattach the side rails, end cap and motor hood.

Step 7

Pull the top half of the walking belt upward and apply a coating of lubricant to the walking deck. Turn the bolts installed in the rear end cap to loosen or tighten the walking belt until you are able to lift it 2 to 3 inches off of the deck. Push the upper end of the treadmill's circuit breaker and plug the power cord back into its outlet.
