How Can I Last Longer in Bed?

According to Men's Health Magazine, the average man lasts between 5 and 10 minutes in bed. Their survey results showed that a whopping 71 percent of men would like to last longer. There are several techniques you can use to improve endurance. If you are not successful at lasting longer in bed on your own, you may want to speak to your doctor about medical options available.

Step 1

Squeeze the head of your penis prior to ejaculation. This will push blood out of the penis and stop ejaculation from occurring.

Step 2

Take your time during masturbation. By making yourself last longer while masturbating, you can help yourself last longer in bed. Start off by holding off at least 10 minutes before ejaculation. You can then slowly extend that time.

Step 3

Extend foreplay. Not rushing to the sex act and engaging in longer foreplay can help a man last longer in bed.

Step 4

Do your Kegel exercises. Kegels can help a man better control the muscles in the body responsible for ejaculation. Kegel exercises can be performed by stopping and starting urine flow.

Step 5

Keep your thrusting movements under control. By thrusting repeatedly and forcefully, sex will likely not last as long. Aim for slower and controlled movements while in bed.

Step 6

Change positions. Certain positions can help you last longer in bed. For instance, one position you can try for longer sex is the woman on top.

Tips and Warnings

  • If you suspect a medical problem could be causing your premature ejaculation, speak to your doctor. Conditions such as depression can cause sexual dysfunction.
