Popcorn is a popular snack to eat while watching movies or television. Microwaving popcorn is a quick way to prepare this treat at home. The popcorn is popped in its own bag containing all the buttery flavor and salt people love. Unfortunately, the buttery flavor is contained in the oil used to cook the popcorn and can add a lot of unwanted calories, fat and sodium. Orville Redenbacher's SmartPop! microwave popcorn is a great tasting snack with lower fat and calories than you'll find in regular microwave popcorn.

Serving Information

Orville Redenbacher's SmartPop! is sold as two different products in two different sizes. SmartPop! Butter and SmartPop! Kettle Corn popcorn both are available in 4.5 oz. bag size and 2 oz. mini bags. A serving of SmartPop! popcorn is 3 3/4 cup of popped popcorn, or the contents of a 2 oz. mini bag. A full-sized bag contains 2 1/4 servings of popcorn.

Calories and Protein

There are 100 calories in a serving of SmartPop! Butter or SmartPop! Kettle Corn popcorn. This is nearly half the 189 calories from Orville Redenbacher's regular butter microwave popcorn. SmartPop! Butter flavor contains 3 g of protein and Kettle Corn contains 4 g of protein.

Fat and Cholesterol

Orville Redenbacher's SmartPop! popcorn uses a 94 percent fat-free butter in the flavoring of its popcorn. Both the Butter and Kettle Corn varieties contain 2 g of fat, which is significantly lower than Orville Redenbacher's Butter popcorn's 13 g of fat. Both SmartPop! products contain 0 mg of cholesterol.

Carbohydrates

Orville Redenbacher's SmartPop! butter flavor popcorn contains 24 g of carbohydrates and supplies 4 g of dietary fiber. The SmartPop! Kettle Corn popcorn contains 25 g of carbohydrates and 4 g of dietary fiber.

Vitamins and Minerals

Orville Redenbacher's SmartPop! popcorn products are not a significant ource of vitamins. The SmartPop! Butter flavor popcorn contains 4 percent of your daily value of iron, but the SmartPop! Kettle Corn contains zero percent of your daily value. SmartPop! Butter popcorn contains 220 mg of sodium and 280 mg of potassium. The Kettle Corn popcorn contains much less sodium and potassium in a serving. Kettle Corn contains 180 mg of sodium and 155 mg of potassium.
