One of the best ways to increase circulation to your jaw is to exercise the muscles, says the TargetWoman health and lifestyle website. This is because working the muscles requires them to expand and contract, which pumps the blood vessels to get the blood flowing. And why would you want to do this? For a more glowing complexion and a firmer appearance, of course!

Exercises for the Jaw

Not only do facial exercises tone the face muscles and improve circulation, they also help to expel accumulated lymph, which can cause sagging around the jaw line, says the TargetWoman website. One way to get the muscles moving and the blood flowing to the area is to tilt your chin up so you're looking at a point just ahead of you on the ceiling then stick your tongue out and down as far as you can, trying to get it to touch your chin. It is important to maintain a good posture and keep your shoulders relaxed during this exercise to avoid neck strain.
Another exercise that can boost circulation to your jaw involves lifting your lower lip over your top lip so the skin on your chin wrinkles, says the Shape Your Face website. Hold in this position for a few seconds, feeling the contraction of the chin and the muscles at the front of your neck that help support the skin on the jaw line. After a few seconds, quickly and firmly drop your lower jaw so your mouth is open but the rest of your face and head is still. This movement will also cause your neck muscles to contract. Hold in this position for a few seconds, relax and aim for at least two sets of 10 repetitions of the entire series. As with any workout program, the key to success is repetition. The Eva Fraser Facial Fitness Centre website recommends doing facial exercises for at least 10 minutes every day.

Jaw Massage

Massaging the jaw muscles after toning them will help relax the muscles, reduce the pressure on the blood vessels and encourage good post-workout circulation, says the Targetwoman website. Try lightly tapping your fingertips over your face as if you were playing a very fast melody on the piano and your face is the keyboard. A good way to ensure you do this exercise regularly and save time is to use this action to apply facial moisturizer.
