Wheat germ is a healthy wheat product that can be added to many baked goods such as breads, muffins and cookies. This product comes from the kernel of the wheat, and is rich in several minerals, proteins, and over 23 other nutrients required for bodily functions. It is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin E and dietary fiber, making it a healthy addition to any diet that may be lacking in these nutrients. Wheat germ can be incorporated into cookie recipes by replacing up to 1/4 cup of the flour with it.
