Snappy Apple, a carbonated soda was the inspiration for the name Snapple. The first tea, Snapple Lemon Tea was introduced in 1987. As the popularity of Snapple bottled teas increased, new flavors were added, but there is no apple tea. In 2010, fifteen different tea products including regular tea, green tea and white tea are sold by Snapple. Diet Green Tea flavors include Lemon, Plum-a-Granata and Raspberry. Snapple's seven Diet Green Teas use all natural ingredients.

Water

Everyone needs to quench his thirst. The Institute of Medicine sets a minimal adequate intake of water as 125 oz. for men and 90 oz. for women. Depending on your activity, you may need to consume more water. Bottles of Snapple Diet Green Teas have about 16 oz. of water.

Green Tea

Snapple uses green tea and green tea concentrate to make the diet green tea drinks. In addition to flavor, green tea adds caffeine, a mild stimulant. The abundant antioxidants and flavonoids found in green tea may benefit your health.

Citric and Ascorbic Acid

To get a hint of the tart taste associated with lemon juice, Snapple adds citric acid to Diet Green Tea. Ascorbic acid added to the tea provides 20 percent of the vitamin C recommended daily allowance in a 2,000-calorie diet.

Sweeteners

For the desired sweetness in their drinks, Snapple blends different sweeteners. Sucralose and acesulfame potassium have several hundred times the sweetness of sugar and are low-calorie. Snapple adds some sugar to the diet teas. Depending on the flavor, there are 0 to 10 calories in an 8 oz. serving of Snapple Diet Green Tea.

Natural Flavors

Regardless of the season or weather, you can expect consistent flavor in every bottle of Snapple Diet Green Teas because they use natural flavors. Fragrant oils from plants are blended in small batches to create the same ripe fruit taste and smell. These flavors are then added to the tea.
