Braun, as of 2010, offers three different epilator models: the Silk-épil Xpressive, the Silk-épil Xelle and the Silk-épil SoftPerfection. Epilators work by removing hair at the root to provide smooth skin for up to four weeks, according to Braun. Hair grows back in softer than when removed with a razor. Base your choice of Braun epilator or your skin sensitivity and other individual shaving needs.

Read the packaging to determine what features the Braun epilator offers.

Look to see if the Braun epilator offers the Wet & Dry Technology, a technology that allows you to use the epilator in the bath or shower for gentler epilation. If the epilator offers this technology that also means it's fully submersible for cleaning, a feature not available on all Braun epilators.
Step 3
Look at the epilator to determine if it is corded or cordless. Corded versions provide longer usage times, but cordless, rechargeable versions give you more options in where you use the epilator.
Step 4
Read the packaging for key features such as the HairLift System, Tweezer System and Active Massage System. The HairLift System lifts and loosens hair to gently remove even short hairs. The Tweezer System removes hair at the root. The Active Massage System massages the skin to make the tugging sensation less noticeable.
Step 5
Look in the packaging for attachments such as the ladyshaver and Easy Start Set. The ladyshaver attachment provides a gentle shave on the underarm and bikini area. The East Start Set features an attachment; use this attachment pre-epilation to cool the skin.
Step 6
Press on the head of the epilator to determine if it flexes. Flexible epilator heads adjust to your body contours for complete hair removal.
Step 7
Look at the front of the epilator for a light activation button. Epilator lights show the epilation area more clearly and make small hairs more visible for complete epilation.
