What is Low Progesterone?

Progesterone is an important female hormone that has a significant impact on a woman's ability to get pregnant. The presence of progesterone stimulates changes in the uterus and the surrounding blood vessels to make the area more suitable for eggs that have been released by the ovary. If not enough progesterone has been released, miscarriage may occur. When women are low in progesterone it is an unhealthy condition that can lead to several health problems. Women with low progesterone should always consult their doctor.

Infertility

Infertility is one of the primary symptoms of low progesterone. Progesterone is a key hormone to creating a healthy environment in the uterus for an embryo. If a woman is low in progesterone, an embryo will have a hard time becoming attached to the walls of the uterus. If the fetus can't attach itself to the uterus, it cannot become a viable pregnancy.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is often a problem for women who are low in progesterone. Osteoporosis is a weakened bone condition, and if it is caused by low levels of progesterone, it is also usually accompanied by an overproduction of estrogen. Osteoporosis can be treated with natural progesterone cream to raise the levels of that hormone.

High Blood Pressure

Women who are low in progesterone have a tendency to develop high blood pressure. Just like osteoporosis, this condition comes about because of the preponderance of estrogen in the body. Natural progesterone cream can be used to treat the problem, and it usually results in a lowered blood pressure.
