Ingredients in Pure Acai Berry

Pure Acai berries come from the Brazilian rain forests. Acai is considered a super food because of the many healthful benefits it provides. This nutrient-dense berry has been used as a source of total nutrition by native peoples for a long time. Pure acai berries contain amino acids, essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber and plant sterols.

Amino Acids

Pure acai berries are high in amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. Amino acids make up much of the structure of our bodies, including muscles. Acai contains 19 amino acids, and is nearly 8 percent protein.

Essential Fatty Acids

Acai berries contain fats similar to olive oil. High in Omega-6 linoleic acid and Omega-9 oleic acid, acai berries are nearly 50 percent fat. Healthy fats can help to lower bad LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.

Antioxidants

Acai berries contain polyphenol antioxidants that neutralize free radicals. The anthocyanins in acai have been shown to have 10 to 30 times more antioxidant power than red wine and grapes. Even at low doses, acai has an impressive oxygen radical absorbance capacity.

Other Ingredients

Pure acai contains vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytosterols. Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, and E come from acai. The berries also contain potassium, calcium, magnesium and zinc, which are all minerals essential to daily life. Acai also contains phytosterols or plant oils that can promote health.
