You failed to get enough sleep and now you have bags under your eyes. According to "Allure," this happens when fluid pools beneath your eyes. "More" adds that as you get older, the skin around your eyes becomes thinner and your blood does not circulate as frequently, both of which can contribute to saggy-looking eyes. Get rid of these eye woes with home remedies designed to treat and prevent undereye bags from occurring. Take care of your eye skin both day and night and wake up looking refreshed and awake.
Step 1
Soak a cotton pad or ball in witch hazel and place the cotton over your closed eyes concentrating especially on your undereye bags. Makeup professional Shalini Vadhera says that this astringent will help reduce puffiness and swelling.
Step 2
Wash your face with cool water using a cleanser of your choice. Dry off and then apply an eye cream that contains caffeine. Laura Hittleman, the director of beauty at Canyon Ranch, states that caffeine temporarily tightens your skin, helping to lessen the look of undereye bags. Dot a small amount of the cream under and around your eyes and blend it in lightly using the pad of your finger. Allow it to soak in for a few minutes before the next step.
Step 3
Apply a skin-toned concealer to the area beneath your eyes to camouflage puffiness. Dab it onto your undereyes using your fingertips or a makeup brush and blend it in. Follow up by applying a few coats of mascara to your upper lashes and a matte shadow to your lids. Choose an eyeshadow that is a few shades darker than your skin tone to help make undereye bags look less noticeable.
Step 4
Clean your face again at night and then smooth on an eye cream that contains peptides. "More" states that this ingredient will help plump up and firm your skin, increase collagen and lessen the look of sagging. Dab the cream under and around your eyes, but do not over do it. Applying too much product can cause your eyes to become itchy, making your bags look even worse come morning.
Step 5
Sleep with your head propped up on an extra pillow. "Allure" notes that this will keep excess fluid from pooling beneath your eyes and should diminish the appearance of your morning undereye bags.
Tips and Warnings
