Body Fortress Creatine, formally known as "Super Advanced Creatine HP," is a creatine dietary supplement complex made by Body Fortress. It contains three types of creatine: creatine monohydrate, creatine ester phosphate and creatine ethyl ester. It also contains a blend of a cell volumizer nitrous oxide -- not to be confused with nitrous oxide or laughing gas -- branch chain amino acids and 33g sugar per serving. Although the American Council on Exercise regards creatine products to be a safe alternative to other performance-enhancing drugs or dietary supplements, there are potential side effects of using Body Fortress Creatine.

Harmful Drug Interactions

Body Fortress Creatine can potentially interact with other medications or dietary supplements to produce harmful side effects. The University of Maryland Medical Center discourages the use of caffeine while using creatine products. Caffeine is thought to hinder your body's ability to use creatine. In extreme cases, using caffeine, creatine and ephedrine could lead to stroke, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. You should also avoid over-the-counter NSAID pain relievers such as Tylenol, Advil and Motrin while using Body Fortress Creatine.

Dehydration

Dehydration is probably the most common side effect of using Body Fortress or any creatine product. This is particularly true if you train or practice in hot weather under strenuous conditions. Vanderbilt University notes that wrestlers or anyone trying to lose water weight and also using creatine may be in extreme danger of severe dehydration and muscle cramping. MedlinePlus reports that creatine works by having your muscles draw in water from other areas of your body. You should drink more water than you would otherwise to stay properly hydrated while using Body Fortress Creatine. According to Columbia University, your kidneys can handle and process up to 60 glasses of water a day, so the chances of drinking too much water are slim.

Kidney Problems

Body Fortress Creatine can potentially cause kidney problems or acute kidney failure if you have a history of kidney disorders. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, improperly using creatine at high doses for long periods can cause kidney problems. If you have a history of kidney problems, liver problem or high blood pressure, don't take Body Fortess Creatine. Consult your doctor before using Body Fortress Creatine even if you do not have kidney problems.
