The Nike Pegasus is a favorite shoe for the runner who craves a smooth ride and doesn't need either excessive cushioning or excessive correction from her shoe. The Pegasus has undergone several changes over the years; once it used the classic waffle pattern from Nike's beginnings. These days, the shoe retains its hallmark features of delivering cushioning and a cozy but comfy and airy fit without frills. The changes between the 2006 and 2007 models are slight but noteworthy.
Price
The men's and women's models of the 2007 Pegasus have a suggested price of $85 -- $5 more than the 2006 Pegasus. Because the changes are so scant, if you really don't care, then you might as well go for the older model and save yourself $5 for tomorrow's lunch.
Weight
The older shoe is 0.2 oz. heavier than the 2007 model. This could be because weight was cut when the 2007 model was designed with deeper grooves on the outsole.
Outsole Grooves
Deeper outsole grooves were ostensibly created to "isolate and disperse impact forces"; many of Nike's newer models implement this isolation design.
Outsole Materials
The older shoe's upper was made of mesh and suede, which gave the shoe a soft feel and enabled a close fit. The 2007 version used mesh and leather. This is a small difference, but if you have narrow feet that particularly took to the 2006 version, you might want to think twice about switching to the 2007 model.
Nike Plus Sensor Capabilities
The 2007 model has one high-tech feature that the 2006 model lacks: a space for the Nike Plus sensor, which you attach to your shoe to enable your iPod to keep track of your workout stats.
