Herbs for Leg Cramps

Sudden and severe pain can be caused by leg cramps. These cramps can often disturb sleep. They are caused by spasms and tightening of the large muscles in the legs. They can be cause by over working the same group of muscles or by staying in one position for too long. Often they are accompanied by reduced blood circulation.

Yarrow Juice

This herbal supplement can be taking to prevent all types of cramps. Its main function is to dilate and relax muscles. It is particularly effective when combined with wild ya, according to Herbal2000.com.

Rosemary

Rosemary in a warm bath with help to soothe and relax tense muscles. Rosemary oil can be added to bath water. The oil can also be massaged directly into the sore areas. Arnica and eucalyptus may be combined with rosemary for optimal relief.

Valerian and Meadowseet.

Valerian is a natural sedative and muscle relaxant. It has been shown to help ease muscle cramping, according to DigHerbs. Meadowseet can be ingested as a tea of 1 Tbsp. herb in 1 cup water several times a day.
