How to Cure Calcium Deposits Naturally

Calcium deposits occur when a collection of calcium minerals bond together under the surface of the skin. They are most often found in the shoulders, back, knees, feet and eyes of a person. Calcium deposits can cause pain and discomfort as well as swelling to the affected area. Although you should speak to a doctor about treating calcium deposits, there are some natural remedies that you can use as well.

Step 1

Apply an ice pack to the area. Ice therapy is a natural remedy that you can use to treat calcium deposits. The ice can help reduce the swelling as well as provide pain relief. Wrap an ice pack in a towel and apply directly to the affected area for five- to 10-minute intervals throughout the day.

Step 2

Adjust your diet to include more Vitamin K and magnesium. Deficiencies in these nutrients could be the cause of your calcium deposits. Eat more foods with these nutrients as a way to treat the disorder. Food sources are halibut, tuna, bananas, figs, wheat bread, fortified cereal, spinach, kale and lettuce.

Step 3

Exercise the area. Your range of motion can be affected if you don't work the area of your body that has the calcium deposit. Stretch the area and perform some strength training exercises under the direction of your physician.

Step 4

Massage the part of the body with the calcium deposit. Massage can improve blood flow and help speed up the healing process. Apply gentle pressure to the skin and move the fingers in a circular motion to give the area a massage.
