Cellulite is fat deposits under the surface of the skin that causes the area to appear dimpled. It is a very common occurrence for women and will often appear on their thighs, butt and hips. Although there are surgical remedies and over-the-counter products used to treat cellulite, dieting is a natural way to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Step 1
Eliminate high-fat foods from your diet. Make sure you check the saturated fat content of all foods that you consume. Avoid fast food entrees, fried foods, butter-based sauces, cakes, cookies, potato chips and pies.
Step 2
Start a low-fat diet. Cellulite is partly caused by excess fat. By losing weight when following a low-fat diet, you are helping get rid of the cellulite. Most of your meals should be made up of lean proteins, vegetables, fruits, whole grain breads and low-fat dairy items. You can also find numerous prepackaged foods to help you follow a low-fat diet. Review diet plans from companies like Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig.
Step 3
Drink a lot of water on your diet. You should aim for at least eight to ten glasses a day. The water can be used to flush the toxins found in the fat deposits of the cellulite.
Step 4
Eradicate caffeine from your diet. Avoid caffeinated beverages, like coffee, tea and soda. Caffeine can constrict the blood vessels and make cellulite appear more pronounced.
Step 5
Focus on easy-to-digest foods. To help with elimination and to avoid a buildup of fat, eat foods that are high in fiber. High fiber foods include fortified cereals, whole grain breads, bran, wheat germ, raspberries, pears, apples, peas, lentils, beans and artichokes.
