The Six Week Body Makeover plan was developed by fitness expert Michael Thurmond, who has previously been featured on the television program "Extreme Makeover." During six weeks, you are to perform aerobic exercise routines and strength training to trim and sculpt your body. Along with exercise, you are to follow a fairly restrictive 1,200-calorie-per-day eating plan.
Features
The Six Week Body Makeover requires that you fill out a health and fitness questionnaire on its website before giving you meal recommendations. Based on your body type, you'll be given food lists and meal plans to help you lose weight. However, on all plans you are not permitted to consume dairy products, states Diet.com. Caffeine, sugar and fat are also eliminated from the diet.
Types
The Six Week Body Makeover is a diet high in protein. Most of your meals will include some form of lean protein source. To keep fat intake under control, avoid pork and fatty cuts of beef. Instead, eat egg whites, fish, chicken breast, turkey breast and lean cuts of meat.
Identification
Complex carbohydrates will also be included in most of your meals while you are following the Six Week Body Makeover plan. Refined carbohydrates should be eliminated from your diet, including white breads, foods with white sugar, white rice and pastas. Instead, whole grain breads, whole grain cereals and brown rice are allowed in moderation. Vegetables are permitted on the diet, and you are allowed a small amount of fruit each day.
Benefits
Water is an integral part of the Six Week Body Makeover plan. You are instructed to have a minimum of 12 glasses each day. The water is intended to keep you hydrated as well as to promote weight loss.
Considerations
Since the foods you will eat are low in calories, Thurmond recommends that you eat often to combat hunger. You'll have an average of five to six meals daily, allowing you to eat every couple of hours.
