The "Eat Right for Your Blood Type" program is a diet created by Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo. D'Adamo believes that what you eat should be based on your blood type. For example, Type A people should have a mostly vegetarian diet, while B people can eat a more varied diet that includes both animal and non-animal products. Type O is the most common blood type. While D'Adamo believes that your blood type determines both your diet and your health, there is no scientific proof that his diet works.

Step 1

Eliminate spicy and heavy foods from your diet. According to D'Adamo, type O is more likely to develop ulcers and stomach problems than other blood types, so it's important that they choose their food carefully. Dairy products, wheat and alcohol should also be reduced to a minimum or eliminated.

Step 2

Buy lean, organic meats whenever possible. According to D'Adamo, these are easier to digest and might prevent digestive issues that are common with type O.

Step 3

Reduce your intake of caffeine. According to D'Adamo, caffeine can raise adrenaline, which can increase levels of stress in type O people. Since type O can crave addictive substances like sugar, alcohol or caffeine, it's important that you keep consumption of these things under control to avoid unpleasant reactions.

Step 4

Limit your intake of carbohydrates. Type O cannot digest carbohydrates well, according to Run the Planet. Instead, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables as your source of energy.
