McDonald's, once famous for hamburgers, fries and shakes, now offers a line of specialty coffees that comprise what the company calls the McCafe, including several types of iced coffees. Iced coffee at McDonald's comes in a variety of sizes and flavors. Both lattes and regular coffee come in iced varieties.

Types

There's no shortage of variety when it comes to iced coffees at McDonald's: you can have a small, medium or large version plain or flavored with caramel, hazelnut or vanilla. Iced coffee also comes in sugar-free vanilla flavor, if you'd like to decrease the calorie count somewhat.

Ingredients

McDonalds iced coffees have a short list of ingredients. McDonalds nutritional information site states a regular iced coffee contains premium blend coffee, light cream and liquid sugar. The caramel variety substitutes caramel syrup for the sugar, with the hazelnut containing hazelnut syrup and the vanilla contains vanilla syrup instead of liquid sugar. The sugar-free version contains sugar-free vanilla syrup in place of liquid sugar.

Calories

The calorie count for a regular iced coffee is 140 calories for one small iced regular 8 oz. coffee, with the medium 11.5 oz. version containing 200 calories and the large 17 oz. size delivering 280 calories. The caramel, hazelnut and vanilla varieties contain slightly fewer calories, 130 for the small size, 190 for the medium and 270 for the large. Sugar-free vanilla delivers 60, 90 and 120 calories for a small, medium or large.

Nutrition

The bulk of the nutrition in McDonald's iced coffees comes in the form of carbohydrates. The regular small version has 22 g of carbohydrates compared to 21 g for the flavored varieties. The medium regular contains 30 g of carbohydrate, with 29 g for the hazelnut and vanilla and 27 for the vanilla. A large regular has 45 g of carbohydrate compared to 43 for the hazelnut and vanilla and 41 for the caramel. All small iced coffees also contain 8 g of fat, no matter what the flavor, 13 g for the medium and 17 g of fat in the large size. All flavors also contain 1 g of protein in the small size and 2 g in the medium and large sizes. Sugar-free vanilla saves considerable carbohydrates at 7 g, 11 g and 14 g, respectively.

Sodium

The regular, hazelnut and vanilla iced coffees contain 40, 60 and 85 milligrams of sodium for a small, medium and large iced coffee, respectively. Choosing the caramel flavor doubles the sodium intake to 80, 115 and 160 mg. The sugar-free vanilla adds even more sodium, with 70, 100 or 140 mg depending on size.

Calcium

All five flavors supply a very small amount of your daily calcium needs, containing 4 percent, 6 percent or 8 percent of daily calcium requirements, depending on the drink size.
