Urinary tract infections, commonly known as UTIs, are caused when bacteria enters the urethra. According to The Urology Channel, approximately 8 to 10 million people experience a UTI at least once a year and over 20 percent of those people are female. Dandelion
Dandelion root has strong detoxifying and diuretic properties. This herb immediately increases urine flow, which helps the body eliminate any remnants of the leftover bacteria that was causing the infection. Research done on the medicinal plants of the Southwest by New Mexico State University also suggests that dandelion root decreases the inflammation that a UTI causes and can provide instant relief for the false sense of urgency most people experience.
