According to the official Lay's website, one 1-oz. serving of Lay's classic potato chips contains 150 calories, including 90 calories from fat. The chips also have 10 g of fat, 1 g of saturated fat, 180 mg of sodium, 330 mg of potassium, 15 g of carbohydrates and 2 g of protein.
Ingredients
Frito-Lay makes Lay's classic potato chips from only potatoes, sunflower oil and/or corn oil and salt. Lay's potato chips contain no preservatives.
History
In 1932, Herman W. Lay began his potato chip business in Nashville, at the time only delivering the snacks. But Lay soon purchased the potato chip manufacturer and created the H.W. Lay & Company. In 1961, Lay merged his company with the Frito Company, forming Frito-Lay, Inc.
