Many stores and websites ship salt from the Pacific Ocean surrounding Hawaii. Hawaiian sea salt has a pink tint due to the addition of alaea in the processing. Although the claim is unsubstantiated, some people believe that adding alaea significantly increases the health benefits of this salt. Charcoal is made from the combustion of items, like wood, and has medicinal properties.

Minerals

Hawaiian alaea sea salt contains the reddish alaea Hawaiian clay. It is unprocessed and rich in trace minerals found in sea water. The alaea enriches the salt with iron-oxide. Sea salt has approximately 84 minerals in it. In contrast, refined table salt has two.

Natural Remedy

Charcoal is also called active carbon, absorbent charcoal and medicinal charcoal. Charcoal is an important natural remedy because it helps prevent toxic substances from being absorbed into the digestive tract. It will bind with and neutralize poisons to minimize the damage they can cause in the body.

First Aid

Charcoal can be used in a poultice on inflamed skin. It is used to reduce inflammation and absorb poisons. It's effective in treating infection, chemical burns, insect bites and stings.
