Fibromyalgia is a condition that leads to muscle pain and fatigue. People with fibromyalgia experience tender points on the body that cause pain when pressure is applied to them. These points include the neck, back, hips, arms and legs. Common symptoms of fibromyalgia may include difficulty sleeping, headaches, morning stiffness and tingling or numbness in the extremities. Nutritional supplements may be used to help relieve or prevent symptoms, according to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Disorders.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E supports muscle growth and strengthens immunity. It contributes to a healthy growth of red blood cells that transport oxygen to nutrients, cells and organs of the body. According to the University of Maryland, vitamin E is a nutritional supplement that may be used by those with fibromyalgia. Vitamin E can be taken in a capsule form or can be consumed through food. Good dietary sources include olive oil, almonds, Brazil nuts, avocados and nut butters, according to the National Institutes of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases.

Zinc

According to the National Institutes of Health, zinc is a mineral associated with decreasing muscle weakness and twitching. In addition, it may relieve feelings of tension in the body and help promote relaxation. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, these actions may help zinc relieve fatigue and muscle cramping associated with fibromyalgia. Zinc can be taken as a daily supplement in capsule form or consumed through food. Foods rich in zinc include meat, liver, pumpkin seeds and green, leafy vegetables.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C protects the body's cells from free radical damage. This helps reduce inflammation in the body that can contribute to fatigue and muscle stiffness and pain. The University of Maryland Medical Center cites vitamin C as a good support for immune function that can benefit those with fibromyalgia. Citrus fruits, such as oranges, lemons and limes are rich in vitamin C. Other sources include melons, strawberries and broccoli. This vitamin can also be taken in a capsule if dietary foods do not provide adequate intake, according to the National Institutes of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases.
