Boiled or steamed jumbo shrimp contain about 14 calories each, according to Calorie King. When breading or battering and frying fish, the calories per jumbo shrimp jump to about 74.

One 4 oz. serving of jumbo shrimp contains almost half the amount of the recommended daily amount of protein. Though high in cholesterol, shrimp remains low in unsaturated fat. Shrimp contains omega-3 fatty acids, which may decrease the risk of heart disease, cholesterol and high blood pressure. Shrimp also contains vitamin D and high amounts of calcium and phosphorus.
