The nutrition information provided by online food database MyFitnessPal explains that a 3 oz bison burger contains 152 calories. According to MyFitnessPal, a 3 oz serving of regular hamburger meat provides 231 calories.

Fat

Bison burgers are lower in calories than regular hamburgers because of the reduced level of fat. According to MyFitnessPal, a 3 oz bison burger patty contains 7 g of fat, with 3 g of saturated fat. However, a traditional hamburger contains 15 g of fat, with 6 g of saturated fat.

Carbohydrates

Both bison burgers and hamburger meat are free of carbohydrates. Serving the meat on a bun will add carbohydrates and calories, so check the nutrition facts provided on the bun packaging.

Protein

According to MyFitnessPal, bison burgers and regular hamburgers contain nearly the same amount of protein. Regular hamburgers contain 23 g per 3 oz serving, while bison burgers contain 22 g per serving.
