The first Pizza Hut restaurant opened in Wichita, Kansas, in 1958. Since then, Pizza Hut has become one of America's favorite chain restaurants, producing numerous varieties of pizza, and offering a few diet options for the health-conscious.

Features

Although potentially fattening, Pizza Hut offers nutritionally well-balanced menu items, with pizza ingredients including calcium, complex carbohydrates, protein and vitamin A. Depending on the additional toppings ordered, Pizza Hut diners may also be able to enjoy items from all four major food groups.

Calories

Fit 'n Delicious pizzas, for those counting calories, contain 150 to 180 calories per slice depending on toppings. Pizza Hut's signature pan pizzas can range from 230 calories for a single slice of 12" medium Veggie Lover's pizza to 480 calories for a single slice of 14" large Meat Lover's pizza.

In terms of fat, Pizza Hut's Fit 'n Delicious remains the best choice, starting at 4 g of fat for a single slice. Not surprisingly, the 14" large Meat Lover's pizza packs the most fat, containing 28 g per slice.
