The no flour, no sugar diet focuses on eliminating empty-calorie choices from your daily food plans. Thus, the diet restricts foods that contain flour and sugar, and encourages you to eat healthier foods in their place.

The no flour, no sugar diet is based on a book by Dr. Peter H. Gott, a medical doctor and health columnist.

Restrictions

Examples of come restricted foods include pizza, pasta, white and wheat bread, cookies, white rice, crackers, doughnuts, cereal, cakes, rolls, bagels, croissants, honey, candy, high-fructose corn syrup, jams, ice cream, granola bars, brownies, and cane sugar.

Exceptions

Whole-grain versions of some of the aforementioned restricted foods are permissible as part of the diet such as whole-grain pasta. You can also use no-calorie sweeteners such as Equal.

Precautions

According to lovetoknow.com, Gott recommends a steady weight loss of no more than 2 lbs. per week. Otherwise, you might risk gaining the weight back. Also, discuss this diet with your doctor if you have diseases of the heart, kidneys and liver, or if you have diabetes.
