Ramen is an Asian noodle dish prepared with chicken, beef or vegetable stock. Maruchan, a Japanese company, manufactures and sells dried, packaged ramen noodles and ramen instant lunch in a variety of flavors as well as low-sodium recipes.

Noodle Soup Calorie Information

Maruchan chicken, beef, shrimp, pork, oriental, lime shrimp and lime chili shrimp flavor Ramen Noodle Soup contains 190 calories per serving. One serving of Maruchan Ramen is a half-block of noodles and seasoning. If you eat the entire package in one sitting, you're getting 380 calories.

Instant Lunch Calorie Information

Maruchan Instant Lunch noodle soups are available in nine flavors as well as low-sodium options. Each foam cup of noodles contains one serving. The Instant Lunch beef, chicken, vegetable, roast chicken and shrimp flavors contain 290 calories. The Instant Lunch creamy chicken contains 300 calories.

Considerations

Ramen noodles have a high sodium content. The American Heart Association recommends eating only about 1,500 mg of sodium daily. One package of Maruchan Noodle Soup has 830 mg of sodium, more than half of the recommended daily allowance. If you eat the entire package, you're getting your entire RDA of sodium in one sitting.
